2019 TEFAF The European Fine Art Fair 14-24 March

IT-Designed by the amazing vision of TOM POSTMA with a decor of TEN KATE in spite of the external nasty weather, where in Maastricht it has been raining cats and dogs for days, inside the TEFAF fair, art trasforms the reality. One can see a huge mural of blossoming flowers which pretends there is a sunny day outside to make them grow so luxuriant.

If you wants to touch the perfection, then one must come here. Amazing food and wine, out of a surprising 48 hours uninterrupted catering, provided by Maison Van Der Boen, added to an amazing decor made of thick, velvet carpets helping massage tired foot, flowers installations everywhere apparently made by extraterrestrial and the most gorgeous masterpieces are here.
Yes, God lives in MAASTRICHT!!! We are sure now.
After having seen Amsterdam and its gorgeous museums such as the Stedelijk with a modern XX century’s collection with names such as Mondrian, Rothko, Twombly, Kandinsky, Malevich and then the overwhelming Rijksmuseum with its Rembrandt all show, jumping into all aspects of a genius of light and paintings, scribbles, dessins and engraveure and finally the Vang Gogh Museum, a glimse of eternity have touched my cheeks.

Thinking all this was enough with grace and happyness, I finally landed at Tefaf, (acronim for The European Fine Art Fair) in its original 30 years old version in Maastricht.

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, - they say - but here it is really in front of you everywhere, slapping you till you think is all unreal, a dream-like experience, a day-dreaming,

It's not possible that human beings can be so bad in wars, destructions, killing, exploiting and ruining this fragile planet and then they can, for 7000 centuries, demonstrate their repentance, through special artifacts that make men more near to God: vases, ceramics, paintings, jewels, sculptures, frescos, dessins, engravures, everything with a touch of God’s grace.

Thanks to Evert Douwes Sr, who recently passed away, who was the Founding Father of this masterpiece fair conceived by his genius and today 293 dealers, only the best are invited.

Established in 1988, TEFAF is widely regarded as the world’s pre-eminent organization for fine art, antiques, and design. TEFAF Maastricht covers 7,000 years of art history, while TEFAF New York spring is more on modern and contemporary art & design; and fall focuses mainly on Fine and Decorative Art from antiquity to 1920.

TEFAF champions the finest quality art through the ages and from around the world by creating a community of the world’s top art dealers and experts to inspire lovers and buyers of art everywhere. The high quality of the works on offer at its Fairs is ensured by means of a strict selection of participating dealers and galleries.

But let's see what striked all most. We start with the usual amazing energy of Axel Vordoordt Gallery with a million euros worth El Anatsui palette of colour interwoven arazzo, giving a new life to found and wasted object shining like a Klimt and a Bisanzio Mosaic. Then the two statuette of green "velvet" moss made of cersamic by Kim Simonsson
Moss Girl with Bonfire, 2017 were available for € 30,000.00 at gallery Jason Jacques from New York.
